Helaine Liew – Piano

Profile
Helaine was awarded her LMusA in 2014 and completed her degree in Chemical Engineering and Music Studies at the University of Sydney in 2021, under the tutelage of Mr Alan Ho and Dr Paul Rickard-Ford. One of her favourite achievements is having performed Liszt’s second piano concerto in the final round of the 2018 Sydney Conservatorium’s piano concerto competition.
Helaine is one of the founding members of V2R, a chamber ensemble that specialises in covers of video game music. With V2R, she has performed at multiple Sydney Conventions (such as SMASH! and the Australian Sake Festival), collaborated with regional and international video game musicians and recorded for audio streaming platforms. While piano occupies most of her time, Helaine also loves playing bassoon with the Modést Orchestra, throwing a frisbee around with friends and drawing. Her designs have been featured on albums by Momoru, The Consouls and TPR.
