PitTan (violin) and Helaine Liew (piano) are the co-founders of V2R, a Sydney-based piano quintet dedicated to bringing the “Virtual 2 Reality.” Alongside James Guo (Violin), Jessica Ngan (Viola) and Mitchell Quinn (Cello), they have been arranging and performing video game music (VGM) since 2019.

Prior to 2025, V2R was known as the V2R Trio with cellist Francis Yoon. Together, they have produced countless VGM arrangements for piano trio (piano, violin and cello) which are available on YouTube and streaming platforms. At the end of 2024, Francis stepped down to focus on personal goals.

In early 2025, PitTan & Helaine reimagined V2R to a piano quintet (two violins, viola, cello and piano) as its core ensemble. This configuration allows for flexible instrumental combinations, such as string quartet, piano trio, or duo, making their performances versatile and adaptable.

V2R has performed at multiple Sydney conventions (such as SMASH, JAMFest and USYD’s PopFest), and collaborated with regional and international musicians such as with ‘The Consouls Band’.

In addition, they hosted a sold-out concert for the launch of their “Super Mario Galaxy” arrangement album in 2021, and successfully showcased two more VGM filled concerts in 2023.

V2R aims to continue sharing VGM live to their Australian audience as well as internationally through their social media platforms.

While specialising in VGM, they also perform classical, contemporary, anime, J-pop, K-pop and pop-culture music. Their work can be found on PitTan’s YouTube channel as well as audio streaming platforms.
